Medical, Dental and Vision Coverage: American Healthcare Staffing, LLC. (AHS) offers a comprehensive health insurance package to all per diem and travel employees with a minimum commitment of hours, featuring Aetna PPO, Delta Dental and vision coverage. Insurance eligibility begins on the first of the month after four weeks of 32 hours per week of employment or more.

  • There is no cost to you for basic life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance. Supplemental life insurance is available to AHS Associates at a modest cost.
  • Free Professional Liability and Workers’ Compensation. You are covered at no cost whenever you are working for AHS.

  • Federal law allows American Healthcare Staffing, LLC. employees to maintain two homes: your tax home (where your family lives, where you have legal ties and where you obtained your current driver’s license) and the home where you live while you work, including an apartment or long-term lease. With two homes to maintain, you have double expenses, including rent, utilities and household essentials.
  • Because many people earn their wages in places other than where they live, the IRS has created a rate table that estimates the average food and housing costs for each U.S. city. These rates are called per diem or daily travel reimbursement rates.
  • Competitive Pay Rates and Bonuses: We reward our nurses with excellent pay rates. In addition, some assignments may include sign-on and completion bonuses. Ask your recruiter for details.
    401(k) Retirement Plan: MassMutual underwrites our 401(k) plan. You may enroll after 90 days of employment. There is no minimum number of hours for eligibility, which is especially beneficial for per diem nurses who don’t work full time.
  • Flexible Spending Accounts: With a flexible spending account, tax-free reimbursements can save you thousands of dollars per year for out-of-pocket medical expenses. You can designate up to $3,000 per year for medical costs and up to $5,000 per year for dependent care costs.
    Referral Program/Referral Bonuses: Refer your colleagues to American Healthcare Staffing, LLC. and earn extra cash! Your bonus is paid after your referral works only five shifts—unlike other agencies that pay only after the assignment is complete.
